Prevention and Long-Term Stability – From Treatment to Sustainable Health
Completion of active treatment is not the end of the treatment process. The long-term stability of the achieved outcome depends on systematic follow-up, prevention, and individualized maintenance care.
From Treatment Outcome to Maintenance
After completion of the active treatment stages, a final evaluation of the achieved outcome is performed. The condition of the teeth and periodontal tissues, function, occlusion, restorations, and other relevant parameters are monitored according to the individual clinical case.
On this basis, an individualized maintenance program and an appropriate interval for follow-up visits are established.
Individualized Prevention and Follow-Up
The maintenance program may include periodic clinical examinations, professional oral hygiene, monitoring of periodontal health, assessment of restorations and occlusion and, when indicated, appropriate functional or diagnostic assessments.
The frequency and content of the program are determined individually according to the patient’s condition, identified risk factors, treatment performed, and follow-up requirements.
Long-Term Stability
The aim of prevention and maintenance care is to identify changes at an early stage and to create conditions for preserving the achieved treatment outcome over time.
At Laser Dental Clinic, long-term maintenance is a natural continuation of the sequential approach: MFSP™ → Initial Therapy → BOSS → Final Evaluation → Individualized Maintenance Program.
Sustainable health is regarded as a long-term process based on prevention, follow-up, functional balance, and active patient participation.
