Comprehensive Treatment and Prosthetic Rehabilitation with Metal-Ceramic Restorations.

Comprehensive Treatment and Prosthetic Rehabilitation with Metal-Ceramic Restorations.

Periodontal therapy, caries and root canal treatment, extraction of non-restorable roots and an increase in the occlusal vertical dimension, followed by prosthetic rehabilitation with metal-ceramic restorations.

Initial Condition

A 34-year-old patient sought comprehensive dental treatment and a new smile. Assessment identified early-stage periodontitis, multiple carious lesions, old metal-ceramic restorations, teeth requiring root canal retreatment, fractured roots and a reduced occlusal vertical dimension.

A cyst involving the root of the upper right central incisor was identified. The upper left central incisor and lower right canine had been extracted before the present treatment.

Treatment Provided

Treatment included periodontal therapy, caries treatment, root canal treatment and conservative management of the cyst associated with the upper right central incisor. Non-restorable roots were extracted.

The old metal-ceramic restorations were replaced. Full-mouth rehabilitation was completed, with an increase in the occlusal vertical dimension and prosthetic restoration using new metal-ceramic restorations.

Result

The photographs document the initial condition and the outcome of comprehensive treatment and full-mouth prosthetic rehabilitation.

The outcome is individual and does not guarantee the same result for another patient.
