Podoscope

Assessment of plantar support, load distribution, and postural balance

The podoscope is a diagnostic tool used for visual assessment of plantar support and the way load is distributed across the feet.

At Laser Dental Clinic, the examination is used as part of functional and postural assessment. Plantar support areas, symmetry, and load distribution are observed, together with changes that may be correlated with body posture and functional balance.

When clinically indicated, findings from the podoscopic examination are interpreted together with postural analysis, occlusal assessment, neuromuscular analysis, and other functional examinations.

The podoscope may also be used for functional monitoring over time, including comparative assessment before, during, and after selected stages of treatment.

Podoscopic examination is not used as a stand-alone method for establishing a medical or dental diagnosis, but as part of a comprehensive and individualized functional approach.
