When a Symptom Is a Signal, We Look for the Cause

First Meeting and Consultation

The journey begins with a conversation.

We discuss the reason for the visit, medical and dental history, current concerns, previous treatment and the patient’s expectations.

We perform an initial clinical examination and determine what additional diagnostics may be required. The aim is to establish a clear and comprehensive picture of the individual case from the very beginning.

Pain, sensitivity, bleeding gums, tooth mobility, jaw tension or headache may appear to be separate problems. However, a single symptom may have more than one cause, while different disorders may present with similar symptoms.

For this reason, at Laser Dental Clinic we do not consider a symptom in isolation. We assess the clinical picture, possible interrelationships and individual risk factors in order to determine the necessary diagnostics and the appropriate treatment pathway.

What Symptoms Can You Consult Us About?

Teeth and restorations — pain or sensitivity; pain when chewing; a broken or cracked tooth; colour changes; a loose filling, crown or bridge; discomfort following previous treatment.

Gums and periodontium — bleeding; swelling and redness; gum recession; bad breath; tooth mobility or changes in tooth position; recurrent swelling or purulent discharge.

Bite and function — a feeling that the teeth “do not meet correctly”; difficult or uneven chewing; clenching or grinding; excessive tooth wear; frequent fracture of restorations; tension or fatigue in the masticatory muscles.

Jaw joints and related functional symptoms — pain or tension around the temporomandibular joints; clicking or other joint sounds; limited or difficult mouth opening; facial or muscular pain; certain types of headache that may be associated with the masticatory system.

Missing teeth and changes following tooth loss — difficulty chewing; changes in the bite; migration or tilting of adjacent teeth; functional discomfort associated with existing prosthetic restorations.

One Symptom Does Not Always Mean One Cause

A symptom is the starting information, not the final diagnosis.

This is why the same complaint in two patients may require different diagnostics and a different treatment approach.

When the case requires it, we deepen the assessment through MFSP™ in order to analyse biological, functional and structural factors as an interconnected system.

From Symptom to Sustainable Health

Symptom → Clinical Assessment → Diagnostics → Cause → Individualized Treatment Plan → Biological Stabilization → Functional Restoration → Long-Term Maintenance

Our goal is not only to address the complaint but, whenever possible, to identify the factors that cause or maintain it and to develop an appropriate individualized strategy.

When Should You Not Delay an Examination?

Severe or increasing pain, swelling, purulent discharge, trauma, sudden tooth mobility, persistent bleeding or a rapidly developing change require timely professional assessment.

You do not need to know the diagnosis before seeking help. A symptom is sufficient reason to begin with the right question: “What is causing it?”
